Staying productive in an environment with kids, significant others, pets, laundry and all the other distractions that exist at home can prove to be difficult. But it doesn’t mean that employees are waiting to be summoned back to the office either.
As much as employers may want their employees back in the office, they have failed to offer a better option than what currently exists.
3 Suggestions:
Show them how they can be more productive in an office environment vs their home (bedroom/garage/kitchen, etc).
Don’t waste in-person time, it is a valuable commodity. Use this time for something that can only be accomplished in person.
Offer “hybrid” and “flex” options where applicable.
Remote work is here to stay. It’s the responsibility of the employer to get creative on how to optimize the working experience. There are no rules…
