Break the Inertia
Inertia - the tendency to do nothing or to remain unchanged.
We all have areas of inertia in our lives both business and professional. As a general rule of thumb, when you focus on one area of your life invariably you are not focusing on others. We as humans tend to move through life in cycles and seasons. There are times when we focus more on health vs focusing on love or faith. Inertia tends to set in on areas that are untended. Such as a garden easily becomes overgrown by weeds when not properly cared for. Take a moment and identify areas in your life that you have allowed inertia to set in (willing or unwillingly). Find a way to tend to each area a little everyday. Approach it with the chisel mentality. You won't carve the entire stone in a day, but bit by bit you will carve a masterpiece. Some areas of your life will require a sledgehammer while other areas a simple pulling of the weeds.
When I was young I played soccer and was kicked in the knee tearing three ligaments. The doctor put my knee in a brace for a a few weeks before surgery. While in the brace scar tissue formed which severely limited my mobility. The doctor noticed I could only bend my knee half way and he said he needed to break up the scar tissue. So he had me lay down on my back, told me to brace myself and on the count of three he was going to bend my knee to full mobility. He counted out loud... on ONE he pushed my knee as hard as he could breaking all the scar tissue. It was excruciating painful, however after that moment I had full range of motion. In life sometimes you need to trick yourself and thrust your way past inertia. Don't give yourself to the count of three, do it on ONE. Some areas will be more painful than others, but the end result will be more mobility and success in your life.
