Doing = Being
Doing leads to Being. The power lies in doing. Your skills, expertise, accomplishments and results will all come from the act of doing. Action begets more action which breaks inertia. The person who can move into action provides more value than the person who never moves. In order for you to be who you want to become you must move.
Granted, not all action is good action of course. It requires knowledge of a particular sphere to know what needs to be done, how it needs to be done, when it needs to be done and so forth. Doers understand that not everything is going to work out every time. But they are willing to test, pivot, iterate, shift and change course if it leads to better outcomes. The key is that the doer won't let the fear of failure freeze them in their tracks.
Doers are different from Wanters. A wanter wants to learn how to play guitar. A doer picks one up and starts plucking the strings. A wanter would love to own a business but is afraid that they will lose money if it doesn't work out. A doer understands they can lose it all and they have made peace with that fact and move on from there. Wanting is the beginning of desire and desire is one of the most powerful forces in the Universe. When desire is met with action magic happens.
Once you commit to the act of Doing it will lead you to the state Being. You must do in order to be. I want to be an actor, therefore I must act in order to be an actor. I am a poet because I write poems, not because I want to write poems.
Everything you want is on the other side of doing. Take action each day towards your goals. Get clear on who you want to become. Move forward and pivot as needed. Your most powerful future self awaits you.
