If you’re passionate about a subject and you want to share that knowledge with others, then don’t let anything stop you.
I’ve recently stumbled upon a youtube channel by jazz guitar legend Jimmy Bruno. He’s a bit rough around the edges - often smoking, cursing up a storm and expressing very little patience. It’s clear Jimmy doesn’t pay much attention to lights, cameras, wardrobe, scripts, backdrop, sound and he has no problem telling you not to book a session with him if you don’t know your basics… and I can’t get enough of him.
Jimmy is overwhelmingly generous with sharing his knowledge and he often interacts directly with his subscribers (if you PayPal him $10 he’ll even send you sheet music or answer your questions directly). He is a content machine, has amassed 15k+ subscribers and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
So what’s this got to do with you?
Jimmy’s channel is a good example that if your content is valuable it will find its way to the right audience regardless of production value. It’s possible someone out there is waiting to be blessed by your knowledge.
So, take a page out of Jimmy’s book and just hit record.
