Seek to Rise
Are you seeking to be great at what you do? Are you learning new skills that can improve your performance? Is there an innate desire to be better than you were yesterday? Are you pushing for the top? Are you your own worst enemy and your biggest advocate? Do people look at the caliber at which you operate and say - "Wow"?
Most people don't think in these terms. They are happy staying afloat while drifting through life unnoticed. I've found many people have never seriously stopped and explored what reaching the top would even look like for them. Some have never been given the nudge or the permission or the insight to think in this capacity. The beauty is, it's free to dream. Achieving the dream will cost you, but the dream itself is all yours. If you are going to show up to work regardless, you might as well go to work with the mindset that you will be the best (fill in the blank) that has ever lived. This mental framework over time will start to produce a result within you and you will see daily improvements.
There's only a small percentage of people that seek to reach the top. This means that there is less competition but more fierce competition the higher you climb. This is a good thing because iron sharpens iron. The altitude by which you rise will make you stronger, sharper, better. The caliber of those around you will push you to be more. Ultimately the marketplace will value you more as you provide more value to it. It all starts with "seeking to rise".
