We often don’t get started because others are already doing the thing that we would like to be doing as well. Yet the marketplace is filled with examples of side-by-side sameness. Gas stations, fast food, coffee shops, grocery stores, local retailers… all find success due to their proximity to the competition.
More often than not I turn to youtube to find information on “how to_____”. I’ll usually watch 2-3 videos (or more) on the subject i’m researching (i.e. how to make Vegan Lasagna).
What if you went to youtube or google and there was only one article on any topic? What if you went to iTunes or Spotify and there was only one song in any genre? What if you went to the movies and there was only one actor in any film? Or what if you went to the gallery and there was only one painting? You get the picture…
The point being, there is plenty of room for you, your ideas and creations, even though those ideas have already been expressed by others. Just make them your own (and add your own swagger)…
