Consistently the biggest topic I get pulled into is how and when do we get back into the physical office? Bear in mind these conversations are often initiated by executive teams not employees. Here’s three questions I tend to ask… keep these in mind when determining the right structure for your team:
Question(s) for the Employer - What’s in it for the employee? Honestly, why does your team need to show up to the physical office? Note: “Because you said so” isn’t as strong of an answer as it once was - think carrot not stick. The burden (or pleasure) of a positive in-office experience is on you.
Question(s) for the Employee - what do you have to lose by getting up close and personal with people that you work with? What is your alternative to strengthening relationships and building deeper bonds with your teammates? Do you have a better option that is worth funneling upward?
The Million Dollar Question - What serves our customers/clients best?
