Seeing the Angles
If you’ve been wrestling with the same business challenge for months - or even years… and it still isn’t solved, it may be time to seek outside counsel.
Be wary of becoming your own only source of advice.
“For he who will be his own counsellor shall be sure to have a fool for his client.”
As business owners, it’s easy to fall into the trap of believing we’re the smartest person in the room. Over time, that mindset becomes expensive. And it’s far from an aspirational goal.
Growth often begins with humility.
The moment we’re willing to admit we don’t have all the answers is the moment we create space for new perspectives, better ideas and hard truths that can move the business forward.
Remember: You can’t listen if you’re always talking.
One of the most valuable things an advisor, mentor, board member, or peer can provide isn’t validation - it’s perspective.
As Norman Vincent Peale put it:
“The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism.”
If the problem is still there, perhaps the answer isn’t more effort.
Perhaps it’s a different voice.
