Thanks Receiving
Why do we live in a culture that so sparingly offers praise, appreciation, recognition and thanks? Do we think we’re going to run out of it?
Hitting the gratitude journal is easy… but telling someone how thankful you are for them requires effort, which in many cases is amplified ten-fold by the receiver.
It’s true - the large majority of workers (and people in general) receive little to no recognition, which leads to disengagement and ultimately quitting (or worse silent quitting).
What are we worried about when it comes to expressing our appreciation for others? A small token / mention of gratitude can actually make someone’s day brighter, which has a ripple effect on those around them (friends, family, co-workers, customers). Note: ensure the appreciation is authentic, we can all smell B.S.
Pro Tip: Want to make the world a better place? Start by thanking those around you for all they do.
So then… who is on the receiving end of your gratitude?
Poll Results: The results are in from last week’s survey:
86% of voters said they would prefer to take a risk!
