We tend to copy what works. When we do, we shouldn't expect to achieve more than the original by using the same approach. In fact, we should anticipate less because we've created a watered-down version of the original. With each new copy, the value diminishes, while the original value continues to grow because it is the OG.
If you feel yourself veering toward the middle or if you feel you’re simply bringing sand to the beach, then it may be time to try something that hasn’t been proven, may not work and where there is no example to follow.
It’s in this process that you will explore, learn, discover, test, learn some more, fail, try again, learn even more, succeed… and eventually become the copied.
This doesn't mean you shouldn't learn from successful people who came before you. However, you must forge your own path if you want to succeed beyond them.

I love this post. The originators rarely get the credit they deserve as pioneers and though some would say nothing new under the Sun, I do believe each individual’s gifts and unique character breeds pure originality if leaned into. There is also so much to be said about who and how you can utilize the life work and knowledge of those that have blazed the trail before you in any one pathway - but do those questions MATTER. Yes and Yes. Such a simple but weighted conversation that you bring to light in the simplest yet impactful way, as always. Love your writings and your sentiment to the Originals (and the importance of) in society. Cheers!
