The New Playbook
There was a time when “scale” meant adding bodies and building infrastructure. Not anymore.
Today’s playbook is scale without more bodies - and turning the people you already have into super employees fully equipped with all the powers of AI. Anything that can be automated should be automated, as long as it improves the customer experience (which will always be a real USP). The mundane, paint-by-numbers jobs are disappearing, and the race to build one-person unicorns is already underway.
This isn’t good or bad. It just is. And the genie isn’t going back in the bottle.
Some operators refuse to play the AI game and want to compete on high-touch experience. Others don’t care if they lose customers as long as the machine runs itself. Either way - run your own race. Just don’t run it blindfolded with your legs tied together. That’s dumb.
