The Predictability Factor
All businesses need predictability.
Predictability fosters confidence.
The greater our confidence in our business, the more risks we are willing to undertake, ultimately leading to growth.
And although we may not be able to predict the unknown, we can predict that it’s out there and coming for us.
Thus, we must fortify ourselves by enhancing the “Predictability Factor” in our businesses - recurring revenue, committed staff (well compensated and appreciated), happy customers/partners/investors, well optimized operating procedures, reliable technology, consistent delivery of quality, and so forth…
It’s simple, the less predictable the business, the more unstable and risky it becomes for all stakeholders.
If I were to demonstrate once that I could turn water into gold, you'd be impressed. However, if I could repeatedly replicate this feat, you'd eagerly seek involvement in the business at any level. And therein lies our challenge: to construct an engine capable of reliably and consistently generating value.
Poll Results: The results are in from last week’s survey:
50% of voters said they are struggling most with the actual exit from their business
