This Thing Called "Work"
What is work?
Isn’t it largely a series of interconnected tasks aimed at producing a result - qualitative, quantitative or both.
When someone asks “what do you do,” aren’t they really asking about output, not input. A writer’s technical work is putting words on a page. The real work is making the reader feel something.
My work has always been thinking deeply about BIG problems - and more importantly, translating that thinking into outcomes… because without results - what’s the point?
Lately I’ve been building mini agents to handle small, recurring tasks - i.e. a Monday.com agent that auto-updates tasks and flags overdue assignments. Simple stuff - but it’s starting to add up.
That got me thinking about every small task I touch throughout the day. So I built a laundry list of all mundane tasks and now I’m attempting to hand those tasks off to agents (wish me luck).
The goal = More time at the top of the mountain, thinking about solutions to the hard problems that actually matter. Because (for the time being) that is the highest level of value I can add to the world.
