Outcomes
All businesses have needs.
These needs vary in size and complexity based upon the size and complexity of the industry and the business itself, for example, Tesla will face more complex challenges than the local pizzeria.
Businesses also tend to have similar needs as those in the same stage category, for example start-ups typically need investment capital and retiring founders often need support with exit planning.
When business needs at any level are not met, they morph into “problems” a.k.a. “obstacles”; defined as anything standing in the way of forward progress.
Typically business turn to the Big 3 solutions:
Information - education, research, intel via anything from workshops to a good ‘ol fashioned google search (and now ChatGPT of course)
Humans - internal teams, consultants, agencies, advisors and so forth in an attempt to gain access to expert problem solvers
Tools - technology, software, automation, equipment or other that can solve the problem with or without additional human resources
As a runner-up, capital can be beneficial, but it primarily facilitates better access to the above solutions.
But… before tackling these problems, businesses aim for the highest assurance of success, ideally close to 100%. The greater the need, the stronger the desire to reduce risk, hence why referrals reign supreme, because they offer an additional layer of security.
The beauty of a problem solved is:
Growth - quantitative and qualitative
Peace of Mind - security, control, predictability
Saved Time - perhaps the best of all outcomes
So, regardless of what your business offers, consider these questions:
How are you saving your customers time?
How are you giving your customers peace of mind?
How are you helping them grow?
Incorporate the answers to these questions into every interaction you have.
Big thanks to Bold Journey for the recent interview
