This week marked two major milestones: my 20-year anniversary and my twin boys graduating high school.
After some deep reflection on what these years have taught me, I walked away with three takeaways:
1. I never had it all figured out… and that’s okay.
I’ve navigated decades of uncertainty. Through the grace of the Almighty, things always worked out - often better than I imagined. Other times, I hit walls. Faced loss. Took hits. Yet every setback made me stronger.
You don’t need to have it figured out, but you do need to keep moving forward.
“Never waste a good crisis” - Winston Churchill
2. Intentionality compounds.
Where I’ve been deliberate - relationships, health, business, faith… I’ve seen growth. Where I coasted, nothing grew. Drift is dangerous. So I stay alert to where it’s creeping in and keep people around me who call it out.
“More is lost by indecision than wrong decision” - Cicero
3. Your time is your life. Treat it like gold.
You’re trading life units for every outcome you chase. So you better care. You better believe your gifts matter. You can make a difference. You can find your tribe. Or you can coast through the motions and wonder where the time went.
“You may delay, but time will not” - Benjamin Franklin
My hope for you:
That your life is full of discovery.
That your work carries meaning.
And that your days are driven by intention.
