Remembering the Future
Remember carrying loose change to buy a newspaper or to use the payphone? Now you probably don’t carry change, and you couldn’t find a payphone even if you tried.
Remember commuting to an office just to sit on a laptop all day - work you could’ve done from home? For a lot of people, that’s the new permanent reality.
Waymo’s are coming to a town near you. YouTube is the new Television. Amazon ain’t going away anytime soon. AI is baked into everything. Google Glass is around the corner. Vibe coding for crying out loud!?! You get the point…
You can resist all you want, but your competitors won’t. And your future customers - especially Gen Z, will expect a technology-first, human-second experience. That’s where this is all headed… like it or not.
The investments made into AI by big tech are obscene. Their job? Automate everything humanly possible and inject AI everywhere possible.
Maybe your strategy is to be the exception. That’s cool and I respect it, but for most - this is a dangerous bet.
If this sounds like I’m ringing the alarm, it’s because I am.
I’m looking forward to the day when I can say - “Remember when we used to work on laptops?”
Poll Results: The results are in from last week’s survey:
52% of voters said they are on the “high-touch, people first” spectrum.
Song of the week…
