You’re not in this alone - unless you choose to be.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside both good and bad CEOs… The best leaders understand and rely on the strengths of their teams. The weaker ones carry everything on their own shoulders, never delegating or empowering others. In doing so, they stunt the development of team members who might have become far more capable - had they only been trusted with the opportunity… which is a real crime.
Here’s a simple challenge for the week:
Don’t aim to be the smartest person in the room
Listen twice as much as you speak - (extra points if you don’t speak at all)
Delegate 30% more than you normally would
And if by week’s end you find that your team still can’t move without you - there’s a good chance that’s exactly how you’ve designed it - or dare I say how you want it.
